Nothing is gathered beyond what you choose to type in. A completed form may tell us your name, how to reach you, the address of the house and what the water is doing. We use that for two jobs only: handing the request to one independent local contractor, who then gets in touch with you, and answering notes you send us.

A request travels to one contractor, not to a group. The company that hosts the site and the tool that delivers form messages touch those details only to carry them where they need to go. Personal information is not sold, and mailing or contact lists are never rented out or swapped. We will release information if a court order, subpoena or other legal obligation demands it.

Each form request is stored with the site's hosting provider only so it can be passed to one contractor, and it is deleted after 90 days.

As with most websites, routine technical data such as the browser you use, the pages you open and the link that led you here may be logged so the site keeps working. Every page still functions if you switch cookies off.

After a contractor receives your request, what you tell that business is governed by its own privacy terms, not by this page. The site is written for adults and does not knowingly take in information from anyone under 13. You may ask what we keep on file about you, and ask for it to be fixed or removed, through the contact form. Updates to this policy will appear here with a revised date. New York law governs this policy.
