Referring and advertising are the whole of it. The site is not a home improvement contractor, a waterproofing company or a plumber, it is no other type of contractor, and it acts for no contractor as an agent. It holds no contractor or trade license. It does not offer work, and it does not perform, bid on, inspect, guarantee, negotiate, finance, contract for or schedule any; price never comes up, and no deposit is ever taken. Insurance is outside its role, it offers no opinion on coverage, and it names no contractor on any page.

Sending the form passes your request to one independent local contractor. That business is the one that contacts you; it visits only with your agreement, writes any estimate and carries out any work you decide on. Any deal you make is yours and that contractor's alone.

Any contractor advertising here may pay a flat fee, which is currently waived as a free trial. It is never a cut of a contract, and it does not rise or fall with whether a homeowner signs. Homeowners are not charged by the site, and no money, gift, discount or reward is offered for a request.

Paying to advertise buys no endorsement, and the site vouches for nobody. Monroe County has no home improvement license under New York law, so check the business on your own: ask for its insurance certificate, references and a local address, and get a written contract signed by you both for any job over $500, with early payments kept in escrow or covered by a bond. Plumbing jobs, such as tying a sump into a drain, disconnecting one from a sewer, check or backwater valves, ejectors and sewer laterals, need a licensed master plumber and a plumbing permit.

The site has no tie to the City of Rochester, 311, the Bureau of Zoning & Permitting, Monroe County, Pure Waters, the NY Attorney General, New York State, the National Weather Service or the towns of Irondequoit, Greece, Chili, Henrietta and Penfield. New York law governs this disclosure.
